Hillside Farm is situated in the quiet and peaceful setting of Boustead Hill in the northern part of Cumbria between the villages of Burgh-by-Sands and Bowness-on-Solway, with in some of the finest unspoiled scenery in the country within the Solway Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with spectacular views and sunsets over the marshes.
For the last 150 years travelers and walkers have passed by the farm house and for the same number of years families have farmed their living here. Hillside Farm is a working farm and we are the fourth generation of farmers. But now as well as farming we welcome travelers and visitors to stay at our farmhouse during their time in Cumbria. We are pleased to say that time has not stood still so we offer some of the creature comforts like warmth, hot water and a bed for the night, not always available 150 years ago!
We are located in a small village of Boustead Hill, Hadrian's Wall National Trail and Hadrian's Cycle Way (72 pass the farm). Built in 1856, the farm house is a Grade II listed building just steps away from Hadrian's wall.
